Allegation of Research Misconduct
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
The Indonesian Health Science Journal (IHSJ) is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. All submitted manuscripts must represent original work, and all sources of ideas, data, statements, and previously published material must be properly acknowledged and cited.
Plagiarism Screening
Plagiarism screening will be conducted by the Indonesian Health Science Journal (IHSJ) Editorial Board using iThenticate: Plagiarism Detection Software and Turnitin.
All submitted manuscripts may be screened to identify similarities with previously published articles, books, conference proceedings, online sources, and other academic materials. The similarity report will be evaluated by the Editorial Board to determine whether the identified similarities indicate potential plagiarism or are attributable to properly cited quotations, references, common terminology, or other acceptable similarities.
Plagiarism and Similarity Assessment
The Editorial Board will assess the originality of each manuscript based on the similarity report and the context of the identified text. The maximum allowable plagiarism score is 20%.
Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed similarities, inappropriate paraphrasing, copied text without proper acknowledgment, or other forms of plagiarism may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected, depending on the severity of the findings.
Editorial Actions
If plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are identified during the editorial process, the Editorial Board may take appropriate action, including:
- Requesting clarification or revision from the author.
- Returning the manuscript for correction of citation or attribution issues.
- Rejecting the manuscript when serious plagiarism or academic misconduct is identified.
- Taking further action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies if misconduct is discovered after publication.
Authors' Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts, providing appropriate citations for all sources used, obtaining permission for copyrighted material where necessary, and avoiding plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other forms of publication misconduct.
By submitting a manuscript to IHSJ, authors confirm that their work complies with the journal's ethical standards and publication requirements.
The Indonesian Health Science Journal reserves the right to evaluate plagiarism concerns and make editorial decisions in accordance with academic integrity and publication ethics principles.
